Employee charities selected for 2025

Charity work and fundraising makes up a big part of life at Moneypenny. Led by our people, volunteer team ‘Raising Pennies’ work hard throughout the year to highlight special occasions and organise activities, with food drives, fancy dress, and of course – cake. All with the aim of collecting employee donations for our four employee-chosen charities.

Charity selection

An open vote every January is the method for selecting 4 organisations to support for the year ahead, and every one of our team can suggest a charity for the vote. The 2025 selections are:

2Wish

A bereavement charity suggested by Eve: “I lost a friend very suddenly as a teenager and I know a service like 2Wish would have been a massive help back then. Seeing the work they have done for some members of our own team, it feels fantastic to be able to support them this year.”

Alzheimer’s society

Put forward by Michelle, it’s a cause really close to her heart: “With a rapid increase in the number of people living with Dementia/Alzheimer’s year on year, the support for much needed research is vital!”

Dynamic Wrexham

Suggested by Hannah and Mel, Dynamic Wrexham is a local group for young people with disabilities or additional needs. Hannah said: “Dynamic joined us for our Christmas Food Hall on 23^rd December and it was fantastic to chat to their team about the great work they are doing!”. Mel added: “It’s amazing to be supporting Dynamic this year and helping with the work they do to improve the lives of young people, giving them opportunities to thrive.”

Nightingale House Hospice

Bethan commended the hospice after experiencing the amazing support they provided for her family: “Nightingale House deliver incredible palliative care and offer recreational services for those with life-threatening illnesses, including weekly meet-ups. Nightingale also provide counselling to patients and to their families, who may need bereavement support after their loved one has passed. We couldn’t have asked for better care and the continued support has been fantastic. We’ll always be forever grateful to them.”

Employee fundraising

We’re incredibly lucky to have such a charitable group of people working with us and can’t wait to learn more about this year’s charities, and get planning some activities! Previous charities our employees have supported include: Wrexham Maelor Hospital Children's Ward, Shooting Star Cancer Support, North Clwyd Animal Rescue, Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Macmillan Cancer Support, Andy’s Man Club and Almost Home Dog Rescue.
